The CFS (Container Freight Station) depots have in recent years been impacted considerably by increased costs and regulatory demands associated with being both Customs and Quarantine approved premises engaged in the unpacking of FAK/LCL consignments.
In a measure designed to cover the escalating costs, the depots have implemented an infrastructure levy for LCL cargo.
The infrastructure fee was first introduced by the depots in November 2017, however will only be passed on to our valued clients from the 1st of February 2018.
The delay in timing coincides with improvements made by the depots with increased opening hours and more efficient freight handling procedures now fully implemented. Collectively this will continue to drive further improvements for the industry.
Whilst the rates do vary between depots across the country we will be implementing an infrastructure fee of $8.50 AUD per CBM/ Minimum 1CBM. This fee will be shown separately on your local invoice.
